EA Sports have unveiled a new type of ‘special’ card in FIFA 18 Ultimate Team: ‘Path to Glory’ cards.
The new green and blue cards have been released to celebrate the International break as players battle to try and earn a place in their country’s World Cup squad.
EA have put that battle into these cards which will automatically update when that player receives any other special card.
If that player receives a Team of the Week, Man of the Match, Hero, or Record Breaker card.
The PTG card will automatically update all of its stats to match that player’s most recent special card. However, it will not change position even if the new in-form card is in a new position.
The card will change club and league if the player is transferred or loaned to another team, but this will only happen once that player receives another in-form or special card while at that new team.
Most of the cards will be available in packs for limited amount of time but four of the cards are exclusive rewards for Squad Builder Challenges. Jermaine Defoe, Jonathan Viera Ramos, Mario Gomez and Emiliano Rigoni are the SBC rewards.
There are nine Premier League PTG players in total: Defoe, Marus Rashford, Gabriel Jesus, Leroy Sane, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Renato Sanches, Joe Hart, Danny Welbeck and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Jesus is particularly popular amongst Ultimate Team players this year with his lightning pace and clinical shooting.
Other notable cards are Real Madrid’s Marcus Asensio and former West Ham midfielder Dimitri Payet.
